Now It Is Permitted by Bridget Smith

Temporary public commission across hoardings, billboards and bus station screen

Bridget Smith

Bridget Smith’s series titled Now It Is Permitted was installed on hoardings and billboards throughout Lincoln, England as part of the Mansions of the Future project. The works are inspired by the artist's ongoing research into eighteenth century visionary Emanuel Swedenborg. Smith gathered visionary statements from invited artists, writers, musicians, playwrights, and filmmakers. Referred to as Wayside Pulpits, these slogans offer ways of thinking about how to live in our uncertain times.
